Written in 2022, finished in 2026. The Moog bassline was recorded in one take; the guitar is a live take from a New Year's Eve.
Another Couple is Becky and Timy: a married couple, two kids, and a home studio in Bodrum, on the south-west coast of Turkey.
Becky sings, plays electric and acoustic guitar and writes the lyrics. Under her own name, Rebecca Druce, she has released a run of indie-folk singles that do what she does best: catchy songs that tell a story. Timy has been DJing and producing for over twenty-five years, has a degree in sound engineering, and has hosted radio shows on Hoxton FM and Barcelona City FM. Together they have already put out two records as Timy feat. Becky Cakir — Your Life (2023, North Origin Records) and By Your Side (2024).
The sound is synthy, poppy and housy — warm and physical, built for a beach at sunset and a club at 2am, but always a song with a voice at the front. The story is their own: six years in Barcelona, then the move to a family summer house by the sea, and a new life built from there. Every song is a scene from it.
The goal is simple: fifteen to twenty songs they can play live, her singing and playing, him behind the machines. Date night, most weeks, is the studio.
